Seit 2008 ist sie Generelsekretärin der European Festivals Association und Mitbegründerin des European House of Culture. Außerdem leitet Kathrin Deventer die Arbeitsgruppe zum Thema Partizipation der EU Kulturplattform “Access to Culture”.
Kathrin Deventer has served as Secretary General of the European Festivals Association (EFA) since May 2008, and as co-founding member of the European House for Culture, an initiative set up by EFA. She chairs the Working Group on Audience/Participation of the EU culture platform “Access to Culture".
Europa braucht seine Bürger. Es liegt im Interesse und in der Macht der Entscheidungsträger, jeden Einzelnen dazu zu bewegen, Verantwortung für ein "Europa der Bürger" zu übernehmen. Europe needs its citizens. Mobilizing every single individual to assume responsibility for a ‘Europe of citizens’ is a task that is both in the hands and in the direct interest of our political decision-makers. Europe’s cultural diversity and the power of its cultural activity are an invaluable resource, and should form the very basis of this engagement between Europe and its citizens.
